take the dat again you really cannot afford a 16s in bio and pat also you could use some more science classes to raise the gpa. the way you are i don't know what schools u have a shot at but if u have money to waste apply to BU, NYU, temple...but it would probably be a waste of money. good luck.

(1) APPLY EARLY, on May 1st... be the first person to click in the application... i literally mean it.

(2) This you know but do well on the DATs

(3) Go to ADA website with all school listings, it has their websites, and go to the website, figure out what their avg entering gpA and dats are in recent years... (tip: if you cant find them right away, always look in the faq). I know people on this website have linkes to this info, but I find they are outdated.

(5) apply to the schools which meet your gpa/dats, such as Temple, NYU... im sure there are more...

good luck :luck:

Yeah, do the DAT again and aim for high teens and 20s. Apply to BU, NYU, UOP and Nova (maybe Howard too). I know Temple said that they are "rainsing the bar" next year to accpet applicants with 3.2 Science GPA and higher. I agree with other posters, apply early, eventhough you are taking the DAT later, it does not matter, apply on May 15th.

Why UoP? UoP will not accept those DAT scores, they may overlook the GPA, but not those DAT scores. They want 20+ on each section, they may forego a 19 or 18 here or there, but not 16 and not on mulitple sections.

Thanks everyone! I will try my best to do well on the DATs. Thanks mucho! 😍

Thanks everyone! I hope to pass this semester. I wonder when they look at GPAs if they look at your curriculum...like I have a 3.0 but I take 4 science classes (that's 8 w/ labs) per semester whereas someone who has a 4.0 but only takes 2? Do you think they'll look at that? Thanks!

That may be hard to do since the app is not available until May 15.

Applying early wont get you anywhere if you have weak stats.

It will just get your app at the bottom of the low stat pile.

Thanks for your advice. I was thinking that too. I am taking the test June 28 so I was wondering if I shoudl wait until June 18 to start the application then click send on June 30 since it takes a few weeks for DAT scores to be sent to the schools? Is that a wiser move? Again, thank you so much for all your help.

I don't think so. APPLY!!!! Your scores will arrive when they arrive. The most important thing is that you get a number when you apply so based on that number, that is when your app will be sent out. AADSAS sends out apps in batches. Delaying the app by two weeks can delay your whole app upto a month extra.

Yes they look at your course load. it is always a good idea to take a big load if you can handle it. anyone can get a 4.0 if you take 2 classes. Just work hard and apply early and study your balloon knot off at studying for the DAT. Good luck.

At this point, you need to focus more on getting good DAT scores than the whole course-work bit... obviously don't slack off and take just dance classes, but great DAT scores will cover up weaker academics a lot better than great coursework can cover up sub 19 DATs.
