I am a postbaccalureate student. I took the Prereqs at my first University, (which was relatively strong) and did horrible. I didn't care at the time and didn't think ahead. Now I am taking courses to prove myself at another university (but not as strong as the first) and doing very well. but I keep getting mixed answers. Some of the schools i am interested in, say I should "repeat any pre-requisites with a C- " and some say I should "take upper division courses and do well" (which is what I have done for two quarters?) What should I do???????????????
Would it be best to take some new cources and some repeats? but the repeats won't improve my pathetic GPA? What do I do?

In my opinion, it depends on how bad your previous grades are. If you have a bunch of D's and C-'s I would consider retaking those courses. However, if you only have one or two C's, and you are confident that your performance in your current courses will make up for them, then I wouldn't worry about it. It's great that you are committed and earning better scores, all of which will look good to adcoms.

Give us more details so that we can better help you assess your situation.

yea I've got mostly C's in sciences, with a couple D's :scared: :scared: :scared: so I'm retaking D's now with a few upper level suggested courses. What do you guys think. Retake all my C's (which is most of the core) or just retake D's and take upper levels? This goes along with original question.

what i would do is i would retake the classess you have D's in, and take upper level science courses on top of that. adcom would expect you to do better in those repeated course since you are repeating them. by retaking them and doing well in them, it onlys shows that it take you two tries in order to do well in those classes. I think they would be more impressive if the classes you have C's in, take the subsequent course to those, and do really well in them, that would really shows that that you have excellent study skills. good luck..
