Hey everyone!
Thank you for taking your time to read my post!

Please give me honest advice on how to study for the PCAT.

I have been using Kaplan and Dr. Collins... I start off by reading Kaplan to really get an idea of the major concepts and then get a full understanding of the material that I'm covering with Dr. Collins.. I have read many posts on just to stick with Dr. Collins for eveyrthing, but Biology (use Kaplan for Biology section). I'm starting to panic as days are flying by ... Please let me know!

Thanks .

I used the Kaplan book from the past 3 years to study for my PCAT. All the books were basically the same. I set aside about 2-3 hours every day to study and took the practice tests diligently. I tried looking online for practice questions and additional practice tests. I never looked at Dr. Collins. I ended with a score I'm pleased with. Honestly, just take practice tests, simulating how the actual test will be when you take it. Stay focused, if you don't understand something, don't be afraid to use other resources like the internet. Don't distract yourself, you'll have plenty of time to have fun after your test. Best of luck!

I studied for about 5 months. I started in June and took my test in November. It helped that I wasn't busy during the summer and I was working part-time and going to school part-time in the fall (I was on a leave of absence for a year). Feel free to ask any additional questions! I'm happy to help out in any way I can 🙂

Please what materials did you use to study?

I used the PCAT study guide from Kaplan from the past 3 years to study. I know a lot of people swear by Dr. Collins, but I just didn't have the funds at the time to purchase the study materials.

I took it without any studying and scored ~65. I studied Dr. Collins for 1 month and scored >90. I think Kaplan's has too much info and would take too much time to work through. Dr. Collins pulls the high yeild information and the tests are just like the PCAT and focus on the exact same concepts. The chemistry is really good.

I personally took each practice test 5 times for biology, chemistry, and math. After each test I reviewed the information that I missed. There's really no point in studying the English stuff in my opinion.

Hey do you still have the dr Collins book?

I studied for a month, 2-6 hours a day for the PCAT and scored a 95 composite. Reading comprehension and quantitative is probably the hardest part, so definitely practice with a couple passages of RC a day. I used the PCAT blueprint to check off whats on each section, then used khans academy to study the quantitive sections. The QR is difficult because you never have enough time to finish every question, and even though they provide a calculator, its useless because it makes you waste time.

Use princeton or kaplan mcat books to study for the bio, chem, and orgo sections because they will help you with the passage base questions.
