Hi I am just finishing my third year undergrad with a 2.9 cumulative GPA and looking into going to PT school after my fourth year. I have calculated my program specific GPA because it's with different classes for different schools but it's definitely higher because my cumulative GPA consists of pre-pharmacy classes that brought down my GPA. I am able to continue into PT school at my current school if I could bring my GPA up to a 3.0 after my fourth year but I don't know how likely that is considering all the credits I've taken. I took a total of 110 credits.
My top schools would be a decent school in New York but I would be willing to go to a school in the New York-Pennsylvania region but I'm really looking to go anywhere that's cheaper than where I am and that will accept me. Am I completely screwed? I haven't taken my GRE yet but I was planning on it soon, should I even bother or should I just bank on the school that I am at right now. I would still attend it if that's my only option. Any feedback is great, I can take the truth no matter how harsh!

If I have a chance of getting into New York schools which would you guys recommend?

your GPA is pretty low, but you really need to take the GRE, do the essay (have people proof read) and take all your prereqs before you can really say if you're screwed or not. I say everyone always has a chance. As far as school recommendations, just take a look at the ptcas info or do a search on here for the school and see if there's a thread about it and decide that way.

You really should calculate your prerequisite GPA because I believe it is more important than your cumulative GPA.
