Help needed

Hello,

I am a UK med student and I have a placement at the Metropolitan hospital in Jan 2007. Unfortunately I havent been able to get hospital accomm. and Im really struggling to find somewhere to stay - that is either near to the Met or indeed something I can afford! Any help/advice/suggestions on places to try would be soooo much appreciated! Im starting to get very anxious!

Metropolitan? In NYC?

Well, that's going to be expensive.

I would check out Craig's List.

Also find out which medical school is associated with the hospital. Most times the housing office for the medical school has a listing of people that are looking for roommates, sublets, etc.

One more question... was wondering what transport links would be like from 87th Street (nr York Ave) to Metropolitan Hospital- on 97th Avenue. Been looking at the Google map and i could go directly along 1st Avenue or Franklin D Roosevelt Drive? Are there good bus routes along here? Am just anxious about walking to and from the hospital in the dark on my own!!
