Help on Personal Statement and Letters of Recomendation

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Step one: Google "sample personal statements for residency."

There is no step two.

My school publishes a "residency application guide" that includes sample CVs and personal statements from our own students who have successfully matched in each specialty. Ask your student affairs office if your school has anything like this.

You should also check out the AAMC's "Careers In Medicine" website (just google it), where they have general guidelines on personal statements, how to go about requesting LORs, and sample CVs.

medfools also has a service where you can pay for someone to review your personal statement and edit it/ make comments
