Hey guys, im somewhat new to this forum stuff, however, i find it very informative just looking at the posts. I am a freshmen student majoring in chemistry. I have been wondering which career I will pursue. I am considering between Pharmacy and Osteopathy. Pharmacy, since i like the integration of math and science that pharmacy offers. Osteopathy because i have always loved sports and have always been fascinated with medicine. I have worked fo a year in a nursing home and i always am excited when doctors come and check the patients. I want to be involved in sports medicine somehow as a Sports med physician or Pm&R specialist.

The problem though is that i cant decide.

Do you think i should apply to both DO and pharm schools?

Well, ultimately the choice will be yours, but have you shadowed a pharmacist or a DO? Most of the time, this will be influential in the decision making process. If you can see what each profession does, you will get a feel for what better suits your desires.

i agree with ^

i was premed before until i shadowed a doc for about 6 months. absolutely hated their lifestyle so i switched over to pharm. 🙂
