HELP please.. 2 questions

1. how do secondaries work? do most schools give you a chance at secondaries if your GPA and DAT are slightly below average? I'm taking the DAT on july 24, and I'll have my recs by end of june. so I was going to submit end of June. about when would I be getting secondaries?

2. I was looking through the official dental guide and some schools say they do look at your app before DATs. if my GPA is below average... should i hold off until i get DAT scores before i submit to these schools? (I feel like the answer to this is DUHyeah. but just wanted to make sure) And if yes, if there a way to control which schools to send the app to first and which ones to hold off on?

1. Most secondary apps comes around july - aug if you submit on June 3rd.
Secondary is only supplemental, there won't be anything serious. Most of the questions are already asked in the AADSAS. The most important things are from AADSAS (GPA, DAT, Letter of Rec, Personal statement, EC)

2. My friend also had low GPA like 3.2 but he submitted his application first before taking DAT. His DAT score was 23..but he got rejected to all schools..now he is reapplying this cycle..Good luck 🙂

your friend got a 23 and got rejected everywhere??!? That doesn't bode well for me...

Yes..cuz he took DAT in september..and I guess it was already too late...

All the schools that require secondary applications have a preset criteria (combination of GPA/DAT) and they will automatically send you an email requiring you to fill out the second apps if you meet their criteria.

so i looked on the website you gave me, and some schools what the supplement app at the same time we submit aadsas. where do we get the supplements for these schools (ex. southern illinois)? i couldn't find it on their website.
