help please, does anyone know anything, good or bad about the Anesthesia program at St. Joseph's hospital in Paterson, NJ. I will also accept information on just the hospital itself - in terms of doing a residency there. also, how about the medical college of wisconsin, and the medical college of georgia for anethesia? thank you!

It was a dump. The people there seemed nice enough, but the facilities and the town were by far the absolute worst I saw anywhere on the interview trail. When I was getting changed into scrubs so that I could tour the ORs, one of the ancillary staff told me about how he got robbed the day before. He said that he was waiting to pick up his kids from school in the middle of the afternoon and got robbed at gunpoint.

Needless to say........I did not rank them.

I interviewed at Medical College of Wisconsin. It seemed like a real nice program, I don't remember many specifics, but I did like it. I recall them having a few big names in the field, as well as a lot of hearts. Milwaukee is plus-minus. As a former Wisconsinite, I can say that it is now much cooler than it used to be, but it still ain't Chicago. But it is cheap to live there and safe. If the Packers still played half of their home games at County Stadium I would have ranked it much much higher. Seriously.
