Hey all, im going to Rochester institute of tech.(RIT) next year and was wondering how their science programs are? any ideas? thanks, and also what are the required courses for the mcat? RIT offers 2 types of organic chem 1-3 too. Which should i take? some are 1013-231 to 1013-233 courses, while the others are 1013-431 to 1013-433 courses.

Thanks a lot, and i've just decided my senior year to go premed, and hopefully i have what it takes. Really appreciate all the help you give me, and also good job everyone on your hard work. Thanks

I don't know anything about RIT but with regards to your question about the organic chem, you should consult an advisor on campus. They can tell you what requirement will be needed for your degree and/or medschool applications in the future.

hi tim again, why dont wait until u start college, u are unnecessarily worrying urself and u havent even started yet.

only people that go to rit will understand what 231-1031 course are or something, wait till u get to college and then talk to ur pre-med advisor.

really stop worrying ur self

Hey Tim,

I don't know what specific courses you have to take at RIT but I thought that I could comment a bit about their co-op program. I attend a co-op school in boston and it has been the best thing for me. It was the co-ops that actually contributed the most to my deicision of becoming pre-med. It was great to take a biochem class and learn much about current lab techniques but even better to see it all self-actualize through research co-ops. If there is any advice I can give about co-op, it is this: Don't just go with any old job. Go out and find the position that interests you most, by talking to people, checking the internetk, etc.. I must admit that RIT, whether they know it or not, helped me out most on my searches for a co-op. Their website rules! Thank god for the guy that creates it each year. Check out the link below for pre-med type co-ops /internships.

On the academic side of things, a few of my friends from High School went to RIT and liked it a lot. If you would like the name of one (pre-med) when you get there, let me know via a PM, she will be a senior next year and could probably talk to you about the whole RIT pre-med experience.

One last thing, the only down side to RIT is the girl to guy ratio, I think about 10 guys for every 1 girl. Good luck! 😛
