I am having trouble receiving interviews. I am not sure what I need to do, such as retake pcat, masters program, etc. I have a 75 on my pcat with a 54 as my lowest sub component in reading. I did very well in the bio/chem/math with scores right at 88 and above. Do you guys think that I need to retake my pcat? i have a 3.00 overall oGPA and a 3.25 sGPA. I have my pharm tech certification and I currently work in microbiology lab full time. Thanks for all your input, it is appreciated.

What schools are you applying too? Perhaps you could retake the PCAT...have you actually worked as a pharm-tech; having the certificate alone is not good enough (also a pharm-tech)...do you have good LOR's and Extracurriculars? Some schools value that as well. Good luck

Review your application. There is something not right in . I have similar stats though my overal GPA is slightly higher and have gotten interview invites to all schools i applied to. Which schools are you applying to?

Your stats should at least warrant SOME interviews. Retaking the PCAT would help if you can get it above 80 but a 75 should suffice. Your GPA isn't great but it's above the cut off point of most schools. Perhaps it's your personal statement or supplemental essays. Perhaps you're having trouble getting your thoughts onto paper in a well organized and articulate fashion. Maybe you can take more classes to boost your GPA, even if it's at a community college. Are you currently working as a tech or volunteering in a pharmacy? Your work experience can give you a lot of insight on topics to write about in your essays.

How were your recommendation letters? Did your personal statement explain your motivation and was it well written? Do you have a volunteer or leadership experiences?

Good luck!

Your PCAT score should land you some interviews but I think your GPA may be the one holding you back, although it's pretty decent. It may have to do with the schools you are applying to. Maybe your stats aren't competitive enough for the schools you are applying to. It may be a good idea to check out the average GPA and PCAT scores of accepted students for the schools you are applying to and see how you match up. If your GPA is the problem, it would help to retake some classes you didn't do well in and boost that GPA up.

Besides GPA and PCAT scores, the Adcoms also look at LORs, PS, ECs, leadership experience, pharmacy experience, etc. As others have mentioned, I think you should work on getting some pharmacy experience (ie. shadowing, volunteering, working).

Note your description is Pre Dental. Are you applying to pharmacy in case you do not get into dental school? ie pharmacy is just your fall back.
