Is it true that I need a 4.0 to get into medschool? I'm in highschool right now and my grades are in the toilet if that's true. I think I'm just really stupid because I find it really hard to get straight A's. I tried last quarter and ended up with like a 3.5 GPA. My science and math GPA is a 4.0, it's just the languages that are bringing me down (English and Italian). How different are college grades from highschool?

I was just told that you do need a 4.0. Looks like it's over and I'm not going to make it.

:stop:100% not true (although you obviously want to do your best)

Put your efforts towards getting accepted into a good college first.

Thank you for your response, believe me I'm trying. Looks good so far, I think. What was your GPA in college? How much harder is college from HS? I'm really great at studying and doing well on tests, I just slip up with remembering to do homework...

You've been told by multiple people already that high school grades don't matter (just need enough to get into a college). Multiple posters have told you they got less than 4.0s and have gotten into med school.

Despite this, here you are again worried that you need a 4.0 to get into med school. I'm not sure what the right answer is for you, but I don't think continuously coming here to seek reassurance about your grades is going to help. You seemingly need to address your anxiety more than anything else.

I think you’re fine! Your science gpa is the most important, plus college is different from highschool. I’m only a freshman in highschool, but I’m doing way better in science and math than I am in french, English, and history. You’ll be fine!
