Hey I just joined SDN so this is my first post but I've been reading the forums for years. I need your help though...

Wow, sorry to hear that. Did you call the ADA and explain what your situation was? Maybe they will let you re-take it without waiting the 3 months. Having your application reviewed starting in Sept is a bit late, but it is definitely not over. Go ahead and submit your app, and at least they will have that. If you have to wait until sept to take your DAT, fax each school your unoffiical copy right away, that way they will have some numbers to go by until your official copy is received.

I heard of people getting accepted who applied very late during this last cycle. Most of the people who applied late and still got in had a very strong app though. How is your DAT practice tests going? If you score well on the DAT and have strong EC's then it is still possible that this time next year you will be entering dental school. Best of luck to you!

(P.S. might I suggest a nice home cooked meal the night before your test)

It says "For test administration purposes, an examinee is considered as having “attended” a test each time the examinee is seated at a computer workstation at a Prometric Test Center and starts the test by electronically agreeing to the confidentiality statement." So since I wasn't there and didn't sign in, I haven't taken the test at all yet so technically it wouldn't be a "retest". Does that make sense? Hopefully they will let me sign up before the 90 days!

Thank you guys for the words of encouragement. I'm seriously freaked out about this whole thing. I'm going to call the ADA on Monday and tell them what happened. I was reading on the ADA site that No-shows or people who cancelled after the 2-day before period will not be rescheduled or receive a refund. However, I'm wondering if maybe I can just refill out an application and have to pay all the fees again, yet still be able to do it before the 90 day period since I wasn't technically there at the exam. It really sucks I just lost all of that money but if it means I can reschedule it before September I'll still be happy.

Yeah, I would rather pay the $190, or whatever it is now, to re-take the DAT and not have to wait for the 90 days. Good luck.
