Hello everyone,
I would really appreciate some help regarding my specific situation. I applied to one school this year and just got rejected! There was a reason behind applying to one school.
First of all, I took my MCATs in September and I literally applied almost at the deadline. I didn't do well on my MCATs and I was applying late so I didn't want to risk applying "nationally" and hurt my chances everywhere. My logic was that I will not be considered as a "re-applicant" at schools that I will be applying this years since I never applied to those schools last year, which is virtually every school in the US minus one. As for as my stats, I have a 3.99 overall GPA (Bio major), but a 27Q on my MCATs. Honestly, I was pretty confident that I would get in at this specific school that I applied to and I'm a mess right now trying to come up with a back up plan.
So first thing is first, I'm going to have to re-take the MCATs and this time I want to do it the right way and take about 10 weeks to study for this beast of an exam.
However, I want to submit my app on June 1st. It looks like that I will not be re-taking the MCATs until mid-June. So my question is should I submit my app June 1st stating that I will be re-taking the MCAT? And if I do that will some schools negate my app due to my current low MCAT score? Or will they wait till they receive my future MCAT score before sending out secondaries? Or is this process the same thing as essentially applying "late" since the schools will not receive my MCAT score until like late July?
Some advise would greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
