So I got a scholarship a scholarship at my current acceptance in late April before the deadline. However, I had already written an LOI to my top choice school, (where I’m currently waitlisted)literally the week before!

I’m trying to figure out what to do. How likely is the waitlist school to give me a scholarship or match the scholarship?

Potentially could I withdraw from the waitlist school before they accept me?

That would be the stupidest thing you could possible do, short of punching a policeman.

Withdrawing before you have your other accept? Sheer stupidity.
I’m talking about withdrawing from the waitlist of the school I sent an LOI to out of fear they may not offer me the large scholarship my current acceptance has offered me.

Please elaborate

It doesn't make any sense. Why not wait until you have an acceptance to find out? Speculation does you no favors. A LOI is not binding. Your LOI can be written in good faith at the time, but circumstances change (i.e. "large scholarships."). Wait for the acceptance, then try to negotiate scholarship offers.

Congrats and good luck!

Interesting. I was under the assumption that going against an LOI is a big no. That’s why I was considering withdrawing from the waitlist

I believe that keeping your word does matter (even if other people lie on their LOI) but I don't think you need to go so far as to withdraw from the WL. Adcom members likely didn't take your LOI that seriously to begin with and they understand that scholarships come along. Stay on the WL. If you get in let them know about the scholarship and see what they can do.
