I'm applying for ENT...not a poor applicant but certainly not the best. Everything is ready to go in ERAS including programs, etc...BUT. I'm meeting with my ENT research directors TOMORROW to secure a research project for next month and would really like to include this in the application. Is it okay if I wait until tomorrow??

I'm nervous because everyone's applying today!

Not that I know any better cause I'm applying now as well, but I would assume it would be more important to have that research experience on your app then applying a few days early. I heard that most programs don't even start downloading for a week or so? Good luck bro!

half of programs that I applied to already downloaded my app. But that doesn't really matter I don't think

Every week you delay applying, you reduce your overall interview chances by at least 5%. This is true even for competitive specialties where there is less applicants.

If you think that most residencies dont already have 300+ qualified applicants by the end of their first two weeks then you are deluding yourself... applying early can be the difference between 5 and 10 interviews.

I think it depends on the specialty and programs. I have spoken to a couple of PDs who indicated they aren't going to download anything until October.
