All my normal ways of setting up distance-rate-time problems are useless to me here, somehow. AAArrargagghh....damit. If this problem makes sense to you, plz help. Thanks in advance.

A person takes a trip, driving with a constant speed 91.8 km/h except for a 17 min rest stop.

If the person's average speed is 65.4 km/h, how much time is spent on the trip?

How far does the person travel?

😕😕😕

just gonna throw this out quickly and check if i got this right in a sec. 91.8x +0x(17/60)= 65.4xh

o and dont forget to add 17 minutes or 17/60 hrs to x. sorry for the rush on the first reply. just wanted to see how fast i can set it up in preparation for the real thing.

americanpierg, you rawk! That setup eluded me.

So, the total length of the trip is then 0.985 hrs, making the distance traveled 64.4 miles.

THANKS! 👍
