Help uploading LOR using Interfolio

One of my writers is going on vacation very soon so I have to use Interfolio to upload the LOR on time. I’m not sure how the website works so can someone explain it to me?


From what I know we request the LOR from our writer, they send it to Interfolio, and when it’s time we send the letter from Interfolio to AADSAS using an Interfolio generated email.


My question is on the small questionnaire that AADSAS makes writers complete. I think last cycle they asked one of my writers how long we knew each other, our relation, etc. Do I complete the questionnaire for my writers? Is the questionnaire sent to an email or do I complete it as the LOR is being uploaded?

Those forms are usually given to the recommender to be filled out along with the LoR. Fill out your basic info but question regarding their relationship to you should be left for them to fill out.

Just an extra bit about using Interfolio, they charge $5 or 8 ( can't remember ) for each recipient of your letters that they send. I had a bunch to send out from recent work and shadowing cost me a fair penny to send them to schools that I was waiting to hear back from.

I was also wondering the same thing. How do we send that form to out LOR writers? Can we fill out information about how long we've known each other for or ask them to fill that out?

I forget how it works so I can't answer your other questions but interfolio charges you for every LOR that you upload to your AADSAS application. So if you want to put in 4 reccs on there, Interfolio will charge you money for each of them.

@smile matters You could try sending a screen shot and asking your writers to answer it. Then you submit the answers. It seems like this is the only way if we are using Interfolio. After writers submit the LoR to Interfolio their involvement ends.


@Faefly They make us pay $4 for each letter sent to AADSAS. So my 3 letters would cost $12.

No sources or adcoms asked but I would assume you would have to find a way to contact your recommenders and ask them to send in the forms as well. Then call up interfolio and see if they can add the forms to their respective recommenders lor. I'm pretty confident that aadsas would want the forms with the letters but you're gonna have to talk to them to confirm.

What forms are you even talking about? I went through this app cycle already and apart from the initial email to invite the professors to join interfolio if they don't have an account already, I do not remember any of my recommenders needing any forms whatsoever

This got me so worried because I read another topic about what to do if we used Interfolio, and I saw no mention of the additional forms. Thank you for clarifying this.
