Hey all!

I just took the NBME Form 7 and got 214. =(((

Have been doing UW for the past few weeks and averaging 65%. Took the UWSA 1 and got 236.

My test is one week away. What should I do? Should I try to memorize First Aid and hope for the best or reschedule the test?

HELP!!

PS. I'm aiming for >230

You shouldn't reschedule just because you aren't getting your optimal goal.

You shouldn't reschedule just because you aren't getting your optimal goal.

Umm, why not? It seems to me that if you take the test knowing you're not making your optimal goal then that means you've made up your mind to settle for a suboptimal score. I don't know why anyone would do that if they had the time to study more.
OP, I don't know if you should reschedule your test, but if you feel you have a strategy for improving if you postpone, then by all means do it. If I were you, I wold take another NBME and if it was still below 230, I'd postpone. Just my $0.02

If I were you, I would postpone the test.

Use whatever time you have available seriously to cram as much First Aid as you can (understand subtleties and concepts), brush up on pathophysiology, and get used to the grind fest that requires your brain to operate on rapid fire.

Hey,

Thanks guys! This has been very helpful for me coping with my anxiety. Would you recommend postponing it for a week or to repeat the whole process a month later?
