I am an international student atm but I have already applied for a greencard and I should have my permanent residency status by December. I feel that being an international student hurts my chance even tho the schools say that it doesn't matter. Should I send them a letter from my immigration lawyer? My application was processed early August, but if I have to update the schools when I get the residency, that would be in December ...which is every late in the cycle. What is your advice? Thanks!

AADSAS will have an academic update coming up in end of Nov/Dec. You can update some stuff then. Also call up AADSAS regarding your permanent resident status. Then, next thing I'd do is to call up all the schools you applied to update your status.

Shouldn't you be waiting until you have your documentation on hand? It is difficult to act on what might be.

What is important if you an international student is to show that you can pay for school. If you get your green card in December then you will be eligible for federal loans, so you are good. If the schools you called said that it wont hurt your chances as an international applicant than I would believe what they say. The university will not change your immigration status based on a letter from a lawyer.
