I will be attending an SMP this year while simultaneously reapplying to medical school. If I list my SMP classes in "Future Coursework" on the AMCAS, will medical schools wait to evaluate my application even if I submit early. Last year, I made the big mistake of submitting in November. I don't want timing to affect my application at all this year. Thus, I am planning to submit my application tomorrow, and hope that noting my SMP attendance will not delay the evaluation of my application. (I don't want an adcom to push my application to the side because he/she wants to wait for my SMP grades) Could anybody provide some input? Should I not list my SMP coursework?

Do you want the SMP grades to help your med school app? Then you need med schools to wait for your SMP grades in January, and you have a late app.

Do you not need the SMP to get into med school? Then why are you doing an SMP?

There's no standard for what a school will do with your app if you list an SMP as future coursework. Some schools will evaluate you without waiting. Some schools will put your app in a hold pile and wait for your January transcript.

You should be spending hours and hours reading the threads for your SMP. Former students frequently tell all.

Best of luck to you.
