I received notification that APPA CAS received my transcript (got this notification about a month ago). I'm wondering how to attach this transcript to my APPA CAS applications or if it is automatically attached? I don't see it anywhere. I made an edit to the section on my PhD (date of graduation is august 2016, not may) and it's telling me to download a new transcript request form but I think this has already been done and it shouldn't matter? First application is due tomorrow! Thanks!

I had the same thing happen. I'm submitting my first application through CAS and when you "pay and submit" to a program, it gives a list of what will be "locked" and sent upon submission. One of the items listed is your transcript

Ah, guys! I'm really confused. When I entered my undergrad, grad (MFA creative writing), and PhD information into APPA CAS I only received a "download transcript request form" for my PhD program. When I asked about it I was told from someone at APPA CAS that I only needed to submit my graduate PhD transcript. So tonight I submitted my application to a VA and got this email in response (see below). When I checked online it stated that it can't be verified until it receives my other two transcripts!! Argh. I'm worried the program won't look at my application now? Has anyone else run into this? Thanks !

Congratulations!

You have successfully e-submitted your online application to APPA CAS.

Before your application can be placed in line for verification, your application must have a status of ”Complete” and be assigned a Complete Date. In order to become “Complete” APPA CAS requires the following:

  1. Application is e-submitted and payment has been received.
  2. All required transcripts and/or any required foreign transcript evaluation(s) have been received.
  3. All required evaluations been completed.
The good news is, transcripts and letters of recommendation do not need to be received in order for an application to submit and be viewable by a program. Programs have the ability to review all applications submitted even if the entire application is not complete or verified. As soon as the transcripts are received and other program specific requirements uploaded, the applicant will be transferred from the "Received" queue to the "Complete" queue, which then makes the application eligible for verification. Note that it takes 7-10 business days for transcripts to be received once they are requested by the applicant. Once all transcripts have been received by APPA CAS, the application will be placed into the verification queue in line for verification. The verification process typically takes about 2 weeks. Please note however that as we approach deadline dates, a surge in application submissions COULD increase the verification timeframe to 3-4 weeks.

It is understandable why applicants would prefer to be 100% complete with the application process (verification included) by the program deadlines, however it is not stated anywhere that this is a requirement. It is up to the program whether or not they choose to review an applicant who is not complete, or has not been verified. APPA CAS and APPIC encourage programs to be flexible with deadlines and less than complete application since this is APPA CAS first year. Questions regarding specific programs practice should be directed to the program.

Remember: It is your responsibility to monitor the status of your application and follow up with APPA CAS on any missing items or incomplete or undelivered statuses. You can track your status via the “Program Status” area of your application.

Now that your application has been e-submitted, take some time to review the APPA CAS FAQ, which answers many common questions about your application after it has been submitted.

Finally, please note that APPA CAS does not determine if an applicant has met the minimum requirements or is eligible for admission to any APPA CAS program. It is the applicant’s responsibility to ensure that all program requirements have been met.

Best of Luck!

I only submitted my doctorate transcript and didn't have a problem. I received the same e-mail as you, but when I go into CAS and then go into Manage Programs and click on Program Status, it says that my application has been verified. I did receive a notification through CAS that they verified my coursework by comparing it to my transcript. This happened a day after submitting my application, so maybe they just haven't verified your courses against your transcript yet?

Yes - I got this too. Same situation. It was verified two days later -- my site didn't require undergrad transcripts though.
