A very disturbing fact has emerged at my school. Two of my classmates are sleeping together. No big deal right? Happens all the time? The only problem is one is engaged and the other is married with two kids, the youngest still an infant. To make it even more upsetting one of the parties involved is friends with the other's spouse and helps tend their kids. The entire class is aware of this unfortunate situation yet many tolerate it and even accept it, and some encourage it. Sadly this is indicative of where our society stands: You do what you want, when you want, regardless of the consequences. Please help with any insight you may have.

Insight: Mind your own business and let the chips fall where they may. I'm not saying that this behavior is acceptable, but what can you do about it?

Why is it "very disturbing...the problem...more upsetting"? close friends of yours? They're all adults. They'll have to face their own music later. Just mind your own business. This is the wrong place to ask for "help" with marital infidelity.

Dientes fuertes: That's what I've done and will continue to do. However, it is difficult when it's constantly in your face and right now it is.

In an effort to not offend/upset anyone else let me clarify that I am using this forum as a means of working through what has been an unpleasant situation. I am not getting into others business as inferred by dientes but rather, I am trying to gain some perspective. After all, isnt helping one another out part of what these forums are all about?

You'd be surprised at the behavior of professional students. This doesn't fall within dental school alone. Med, Pharmacy, Law, Podietry, Optometry, all of them. People are stressed, stuff happens, and they'll face the music later on. And this happens everywhere. Why are you so surprised? Everyone is human with human desires and indulgences.

What's worse is the ones getting the shaft are so quick to forgive the offender (i.e. the spouses being cheated on), and this behaviour is allowed to propogate. There's nothing you can do, just know that not eveyone is like this and they'll get theirs eventually.

Just let the drama un-fold and do not get involved, unless its going to start affecting you in someway.

I do not believe in stress will make you do this. I am engaged since last oct. and getting married in aug. The entire time, my fiance has been in south fl and I'm here in NYC. Not once did I even think of screwing around even though the opportunity was there many times. In my opinion, if you are messing around there usually is a reason. So maybe these two classmates have other problems you do not know about and they can relate to each other and then that led into a more "romantic" friendship.

Just last week I was reading a lot of NYC fireman have filed for divorce to go and marry the people they saved or the widows of 9/11

We are humans, just smarter animals, but we somethimes our biological needs that are hard wired in each of us take over and not much we could do about it.

Ok enough...gotta study for mons exam or I will not be seeing my fiance to do my biological needs 😉

Yeah DrPheta, you hit it right on the head...that is nearly the exact thing that has gone on. Thank you and Bronc for your thoughtful comments. I know it's human, I know it goes on all the time...I know it's not my business, and hence I have not and will not get involved.

My disgust/sadness/emotion comes from personal experience in which myself and many close to me have suffered due to infidelity...

Love,
I certainly did not intend to make light of your feelings. I try myself to avoid/eliminate unpleasantries whenever possible. I just don't see how anything anyone might say on an internet forum might "help you thru this" when there's nothing you can actually do about the situation. But I could be completely wrong. Best of luck to you.
