Help with Cube counting Question

Hey guys,

Is there a cube in the very center of this figure? I thought no since it didn't have to be there as it's not supporting any other cubes above it.

This made me count five 5 sided cubes... but there are 4 (this would only work if there is a center cube)

There is no indication if there is a cube there or not. I think for it to be a valid, actual DAT question they'd have to give you something to indicate if a cube is there or not. Regardless I counted both ways and came up with five 5-sided cubes WITHOUT center cube and four 5-sided cubes WITH center cube.

Anyone else think the actual DAT would ask this without definitive proof of there being a cube or not?

Yeah ok... at least we got the same counts with/without cube... hopefully the DAT won't make it so confusing! Thanks! 🙂
