Help with Direct Plus Loans

Dear SDN,

I'm sorry if this is in the wrong section of the forum, but please help me.

I will begin dental school in August 2014, and I am trying to apply for Direct Plus Loans on studentloans.gov

However, when I click on : Request Direct PLUS Loan - I see this letter titled, "William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan Program William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan Program"

Then when I scroll down to select which loan type - I CANNOT click on either option. There are two options, "Graduate Plus" and "Parent Plus" - but I cannot click on them because they are faded.

Then I see in bold red letters, "The Credit Check is not available from 3:30 AM EDT to 5:00 AM EDT.

I don't know what to do. I know that I have to submit my Direct Plus Loan Request - but I can't click on it!! Please help.

Is it too late to apply for Graduate Plus Loans?

ALSO - I completed my Master Promissory Note for the Stafford Loans. Do I have to complete another Master Promissory Note for the Graduate Plus Loans also?

Sounds like they don't accept requests during the hours that you were attempting to apply. Try to request the grad plus loans again today, I bet it'll work. It's definitely not too late to apply. You'll need to fill out another, separate, MPN for the PLUS loans as well.

Free99 is right, it's not too late to apply. I spoke to a woman in financial aid last week who said that the loans can be applied for throughout the entire school year.

Thank you so much for helping me! I applied for the GradPLUS loans already.

The red bolded sentence was the main problem - they just shut down the online application service from 3:00 to 5:00 EDT, and after 5:00 EDT, everything was normal and working again.
