Hey guys, need advice on this.
I just graduated from Georgetown University magna cum laude. 3.8 cumulative gpa 3.84 science gpa.
I'm a howard hughes scholar and did research (40 hours a week for 11 weeks) for 3 summers, 2 of the summers under a very well know researcher. In addition I researched over two school years in the same lab.
I volunteered in a children's ward for 2 years. (4 hours a week, total over 100 hours)
I physics TAd for a year
Over 100 hours shadowing a pediatric surgeon, about half in clinic half operating room.
I'm was the treasurer of an award winning university organization for disability awareness for a year (I was diagnosed with ADHD when I was seven)
I live in Illinois and my practice mcats put in the range of 32-37, but my verbal fluctuates. I'm applying to the following schools: University of Illinois, Northwestern, University of Chicago, Loyola Chicago, Georgetown, Rush, Wisconsin college of Medicine, Indiana University, University of Colorado Denver, Michigan state University and maybe a few others. IS my list too top heavy or is it reasonable? I'm a resident of Illinois

There would be a big difference in schools you'd apply to with an MCAT of 32 vs 37. Why not start with less-selective schools until you know your score and then add more schools depending on how compeititive you are when the score is known?

Indiana will expect you to have strong state ties. Colorado has historically expected far more clinical experience than you mention. Georgetown and Loyola find consistent, substantive service to the disadvantaged to be appealing.

OTOH, UWisconsin also asks for state ties, but seems content if your response is that you want to stay in the midwest. UIowa also matriculates a decent number of OOS. Don't forget to consider Rosalind Franklin and maybe some Ohio schools. Oakland in Michigan and the new UCentral Michigan are other possibilities to look into.

are you talking about the medical college of wi or the university of wi? huge diff for OOSers

No, Medical college of Wisconsin was right. Anybody else know any good schools to apply to in the midwest?
