I recently got my percentiles for the new MCAT and they aren't as hot as they should be. The percentiles are as follows:

Physical Sciences: 62-77%
CARS: 28-43%
BIO: 82-97%
Pysch: 61-76%

Overall: 58-68%

My cGPA is 3.7-3.8 with an sGPA around 3.6. Keep in mind I am a NY resident.

I have started to compile a preliminary list of schools to apply to and I need help narrowing down this list. Please point me in the right direction of what to cross out. If there are any I missed, add that in the comments. I haven't done extensive research on the DO schools yet, so please suggest them too. Thanks!

That means it's around a 27 on the old MCAT. It comes down to what your ECs are because with a 27 equivalent MCAT, its a long shot. Although you are at the average for DO, I believe.

Your ECs are great, and GPA is good, but the MCAT is pretty low. I would retake if you want MD, especially since your CARS translates to a 6-7; the state schools in NY have 31-34 MCAT averages. You are competitive for most DO schools and I would add them if you are perfectly okay with it.

Your list is decent and you can go ahead and apply this year to see how it goes, but I wouldn't bank on it (unless you are URM?).

I'd remove VTech, Hofstra since they have ~34 MCAT averages.

If you retake and get your MCAT to 80%+ then you will be much more competitive.

Let's see where the CARS ends up as well. 40th percentile and higher is the 8 range on the old MCAT which will suffice. Lower is 7 territory and that will really cause problems on top of having a 27 overall.
