Okay heres my situation: Im a senior at a highly ranked public university with an overall 3.25 GPA and 2.92 Sci GPA. I know my grades aren't good enough for Med/DO schools so I decided for Post-bacc. Im taking my first MCAT in April and I was wondering if it is too late to apply for Post-bacc/SMP for fall 2008 in May (once I get my MCAT results)? Of the places that I have chosen (Loyola chicago, northwestern, U of Cincinnati and Tulane) their deadlines are in June and July. Basically, do I have a good chance of getting into these programs? If I don't, does anyone have any recommendations for post-bacc programs that are easier to get into?

My advice would be to take classes at your school if it is instate or go to your instate school. To be honest it really does not matter were you do any sort of post bac - it only matters if you get A's. I'm going though this now, I applied to about 10 post bac programs and have decided, after spending 400 dollars on app fess, I would rather just stay at my state school because it is SOOOOO much cheaper. I am talking like 30,000 cheaper. Because of this I will be able to spend more time studying for those classes and the MCAT once I get to that point because I will not need to work full time. Unless you have alot of money I wouldn't go just for those reasons. Better grades are better then a better school and worse grades plus the extra stress doesn't help.
