EcoRI enzyme cuts at the sequences GAATTC. If an organism is 60% AT
and 40% GC, then the probability of finding a GAATTC sequence in the DNA is 0.3 (30%)
for each A or T and 0.2 (20%) for each G or C.

How do you know that the probability of getting A or T is 0.3 and G or C is 0.2?

thanks.

horrible wording. they are just trying to say if u have 60% AT => since A and T are paired, you would expect to see a 1:1 ratio therefore 30% A, 30% T, 20% G, and 20% C in total for the DNA

So if it was 70% AT and 30% GC the probability of either A or T would be 0.35 and 0.15 for G or C?

thanks. Yeah your explanation sounds much better lol
