Hi, I just wanted to check in here and see what you guys all think. I am just a little lost and don't know what I should be doing.
I have a 509 MCAT, I took it in June. I don't know if I can do better to be honest because I have horrible test anxiety. I am not taking a gap year, applying straight through. I have a strong GPA from an top 10 institution. It is a 3.9 GPA with a 3.87 sGPA. I have 2000 research hours and also 1500 clinical hours because I was lucky enough to be given the opportunity to work through the pandemic. I also have several leadership positions and have started a popular podcast series for underrepresented communities at my school.
EC'S:
- Paid medical assistant during pandemic: 960 hours
- nursing home volunteer: 200 hours
- children's hospital volunteer: 500 hours
- research in my own rare genetic disorder: 1300 hours
- started an advocacy organization at my college which has an expanded network: 600 hours
- student government
- podcast series
- a cappella group: 1350 hours
- crisis text line volunteer: 400 hours
- ASL translator
- Covid vaccine clinic volunteer
- shadowing experiences (as normal): 50 hours
- free clinic in India
- cultural exchange program where I taught kids English and they taught me French
- Taught underprivileged kids music during pandemic
I am hoping my extracurriculars/GPA/and LOR are strong enough to get me through but do you think I am being too stubborn in submitting my application now? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
