Such a humble brag/gunner move on this bro/bras part.

Not really at all though. 3.8/39 still has to make a school list just like 3.6/31.

Also, look up the actual definition of a gunner.

Gunner. Noun.
1. a person who operates a gun or cannon.
2. an occupational title in the artillery.
3. a person skilled in handling ammunition and gunnery equipment.

What the hell do I do now?

A gunner is someone who tries to succeed by sabotaging others: taking textbooks from the library, undue credit in group projects etc.

There's no evidence in this thread that OP is a gunner.

If that's the definition of a gunner, then I highly doubt there exists any pre-med gunners. Doing those kind of acts could get you in big trouble with the university and that's basically the death sentence in terms of med school admissions.

I'd argue that posting amazing numerical stats in a forum that is based around MCAT prep could very well be viewed as gunner behavior. Look at some of the threads, a lot of people get pretty serious text anxiety. I'm sure that someone coming in and prancing around with their amazing GPA/MCAT doesn't help to assuage these individuals. Imagine you were about to sit for an organic chemistry exam that you were freaking out about and someone who had already taken it and finished all their classes came up to you and said "it's a notoriously difficult test but I got a 98 on it, help me pick from the top medical schools in the country." Would that calm you down, or would it freak you out?

OP has been on SDN for close to three years. I'm pretty sure they know how to find the various sub-forums including the "what are my chances?" one.

So your argument is that it's more likely not that OP merely posted in the wrong subforum accidentally, but instead is hoping to subtly harm others' MCAT scores by sneakily preying on those who might have test taking anxiety? Even though their testing outcomes will have no effect on OP's score making the gunning pointless? Not sure what to say other than that you're very...imaginative.

Also, if the knowledge that somebody somewhere at sometime applied to some medical schools with good stats is actually going to negatively impact your MCAT performance I'm not really sure what to say. You're gonna have a bad time. Will it make you happy to know that OP's 39 won't lower your score?

I would definitely consider one of the accredited Caribbean schools. They might accept you there. Goodluck! :luck:

I don't give a **** what op got on his MCAT. I'm going to rock mine and i do not suffer from test anxiety. Others, however, do not share my confidence.

To actually answer the OP's question: I would add Michigan, Mount Sinai, Vanderbilt, and possibly University of Pittsburgh (didn't apply there but I've heard they're very stats-oriented). Georgetown would probably work too. It would help if you said something about the kind of school you were looking for. I had very similar stats to you, but my school list looked very different because I wanted to stay in California. I ended up getting interviews at about half the schools I applied to (none of the Ivy League schools though).

Location is pretty important. I'd like to live in a decent sized city with a lot of nearby outdoor recreation going on. Also, somewhere where students typically do research. Other than that it seems like most schools are unranked, no attendance, etc, so I don't really know what to look for. Michigan and Vanderbilt are appealing though. I'm mostly concerned about not having enough safe schools.

Vanderbilt med students do a scholarly concentration or something similar, typically research related I believe, so that should be something you'd like. Not sure about Nashville though, I don't know much about it.
