My goal was to apply to 10 schools, but I'm currently at 15. Do you think this is how many I should apply to or can I narrow it down more? I am trying to pick good schools that are OOS friendly but also not ridiculously expensive. Thanks for the help (I know these posts are annoying)!

Current list:
Michigan
Pitt
Virginia
Harvard
Marquette
Temple
Rutgers
Conn
UCSF
Maryland
Case
Iowa
Mercy
Tufts
Indiana

Residency-Michigan
Undergrad-University of Michigan
GPA-3.78
s-GPA-3.67
AA: 25
TS: 23
PAT: 21
QR: 27
RC: 28
BIO: 22
GC: 22
OC: 27

i believe with your stats you can narrow it down more. you have an above average DAT score and GPA. good luck!

With your stats I would apply to all of those and see which one comes through with the most scholarship money for you....

Sorry this might be a really stupid question but I'm new to dentistry so I don't have much knowledge about these things. I was just wondering why applicants with strong stats usually don't apply to UCLA?

UCLA is very OOS unfriendly. I believe according to the ADEA book from last year, almost 900 OOS students applied and only 15 were interviewed.

@ultimateballer07 what do you mean by 'those' schools? are those known for not being as OOS friendly?

@JGB_2 They will probably make us duel hahah. How does your school list differ from mine? Just curious.

Rutgers and Conn are not OOS friendly, especially Conn. You can leave Pitt on there if you want but it's likely that you'll get into a better school. That's why I said drop it
