Hey everyone!

I will be re-applying this summer (applied early for admission before my BA and didn't get in) and want to know how safe it would be to apply to only the schools that I have listed below. Is it safe for me to do this, and do any of you have schools that I might want to consider adding to my list? My only real criteria is that I'd like to stay within driving distance of western Mass.

In no specific order:

1. UNE (re-applicant)
2. BU
3. Tufts
4. Harvard
5. Maryland
6. UConn (re-applicant)
7. NYU (re-applicant)
8. Stonybrook
9. Rutgers (re-applicant)

oGPA: 3.75 sGPA: 3.69
DAT Scores listed in my signature.
~200 hours shadowing / ~150 hours volunteer
Over 300 hours research experience currently (over 550 by matriculation)

Resident Assistant / Pres. Student Senate / VP Student Body / Institutional Review Board / Various other clubs

Thanks for taking the time guys!

You are pretty limited if you want to stay in driving distance of Western Mass. I wouldn't even bother applying to Harvard though. I know too many people, myself included, who had great scores, great GPA, great research background and great EC, who were rejected without an interview. You'll just be throwing away $180 for the AADSAS and secondary fee that you could put towards two other schools. I don't think there are a whole lot of other schools within driving distance. If you are willing to reach out a bit farther, you could add Temple, Pitt, Penn, VCU, etc..

Thanks for your input, maybe I'll take your advice regarding Harvard. Do you think that these eight schools, maybe eleven or twelve if you want to include Buffalo, Temple, Pitt and Penn, are enough, given my stats and EC's?

I think the eleven or twelve should be plenty! You'll have a great application from what I can tell! I would still go with more than 8 just to be safe though...

Are you a NY resident? If not take out stony brook. They only accept like 5 OOS? or something. I dunno but their class size is like really small and it's a state school.

All dental schools are within driving distance of MA if you have enough time to take the drive. I agree that you probably need to expand your search criteria to add more schools. I think your base list is good though.

Weakfart, no I am not a NY resident, and when I put them on the list, I forgot that they aren't friendly to OOS. Thanks for the reminder!

I'll certainly expand my search. Thanks guys!
