Hey y'all,

So after bombing this last cycle (rejected pre-II at 24/25... currently on the WL at UTHSCSA), I'm gearing up to apply again. I'm trying to get my secondaries pre-written this time around, which means I need to decide which schools to apply to!

You can find the nitty gritty details of my story here, but here's the stats for my original app:

IL Resident
Non-traditional student
MCAT: 520
cGPA: 3.3 (partied too much in undergrad, this is probably about as far as I'll be able to bring it up since I already finished my post-bacc)
sGPA: 3.9 (nearly all in my post-bacc)
Have MA in sociology
~1000 hours of non-clinical research experience, some in sociology, some in public health, no publications
~200 clinical volunteer hours
~100 non-clinical volunteer hours
~30 hours of shadowing
~Part time job as a science tutor since 2013

Since January I've been trying to enhance my app with more volunteering since that's pretty much the only thing I can work on. Since I applied I've gotten:
~work full-time, then part-time after Jan as MCAT tutor for Next Step Test Prep
~100 hours on a clinical study of joint pain at Northwestern
~50 hours clinical volunteering at a clinic for uninsured patients
~50 hours non-clinical volunteering at a food bank
~15 more shadowing hours

I am thinking I am in a weird spot with my GPAs having the spread they do. So I'm aiming to apply to non-trad friendly schools that are elite enough to noy yield protect me off my MCAT and sGPA, but not so elite they will reject me out of hand for my cGPA.

Here is my list:
Albany
NYMC
Drexel
Jefferson
Sinai
Northwestern
Ros Franklin
UIC
Loyola
Rush? (may not have enough recent service hours)
U Chicago
NYU
U Vermont
Quinnipiac
Cali Northstate? (it's Cali but my cGPA is actually above the 10th percentile here!)
VCU
Wake Forest
Temple
Albert Einstein

I'm also submitting DO apps this year:
Touro-NY
Chicago COM
UNT
PCOM
MSU-COM
NYIT COM
Western University COM

Unfortunately I am 95% sure I lost my TX residency by working in IL this year so those schools will not be available for me this year....

Any thoughts on who I should add/take off?

Maybe add Dartmouth Giesel? They like non-trads. Nice job on the MCAT!
