Alrite, I'm trying to narrow down my list of schools. Here goes -

Harvard
Hopkins
Yale
Cornell
U Chicago
Northwestern
Mount Sinai
NYU
Brown

AECOM
Maryland
Tufts
Georgetown
VCU
EVMS
GWU
Jefferson
UVA

Drexel
Rosalind Franklin
NYMC
Temple
Loyola
Saint Louis U

My breakdown is 3.91 Overall/~3.90 BCPM. 34 R (8 VR, 13's PS & BS). I'm from VA and would like an urban area near the east coast. Any schools I definitely should take off or add to the list? Any schools that are more forgiving on the verbal section off the MCAT? Thanks for the help!

Are you retaking the MCAT in August? That is a disparity with the Verbal score. What do your ECs, LORs look like?

You're extracurriculars are good but nothing in particular stands out. I'd say you're a very good candidate and the only schools I would remove from your list is

Brown University - they usually only accept about 15 non-Brown students, so I would save the 100 bucks unless you are related to someone from there

I think you have a good mix of schools, as EndSong said Brown might be tough, but you just might be one of those 15 or so non-PLME acceptees. I wouldn't worry about the 8 in verbal, you should be fine.

Once you get into all your schools, please drop your acceptances so dumba$$es like me have a chance🙂

wow, yours stats are golden. Check out my MDapps page (03716) if you need assistance (I got almost the same as yours). I would not remove Brown since Brown is admitting more students from AMCAS (no more Brown-Dartmouth program).

haha, goodwork with the 'reach' and 'fallback' schools. I personally would remove some of your fall back schools. I think you have a good shot at the upper echelon places

I thought they still have 3 more cycles of students before thats officially over? Im just lost.

You're pretty much a lock for at least one VA school, so I'd cut half of the "less selective" schools.

Assuming you got into one of your state school, which of the schools in the "mid-selective" list would withdraw from? Cut those schools from your list.

Keep all your reach schools 🙂

I wouldn't worry about the verbal too much. Your strengths should over-shadow it.

Thanks guys for all the insight, I think I'm going to stick with my list that I have now. I'll probably keep Brown on for now but will do some more research on the school.

Unless you retook your MCATs, I would think about cutting Harvard/Yale. I talked to adcom members at both schools and they specifically said that those scores under 10-11 per section are looked upon in disfavor, unless there is something else in the application that really stands out.
