I wrote an essay for one of the secondary applications and is almost 1 1/4 page long. I made it as short as I could, but in order to say what I wanted it ended up being so long. The essay is answer for one of those completely open questions such as "list any information you feel are important including personal qualities, interest in the school, life experiences....."

I am afraid that I am being inconsiderate towards adcoms and that they will not even bother to read it.
What should I do, should I just send it? Man its looong. Has anyone else written such a long response and got good results?

are you sure there isn't a word limit? I don't have much insight but thought i'd offer support in responding 🙂 I think they will be put off by something too long. I would keep things under 250wds... and i'm sure you already know this but you don't need to repeat what was covered in your personal statement. If i had to cut somewhere i would cut down on the subject of why their school... definately mention the key things, but perhaps eliminate the things that most schools also offer. I doubt much of this helps, but i wanted to encourage you to keep at it 😀

There was no word limit. However, the offered space was about one page, maybe few lines less, and it says that we can attach additional pages, but still be considerate of the space used. I wrote about things that were mentioned in PS, just more in detail. I did not write about "why this particular school”, cause I don’t have anything unique to say about school except restate what they say. Well, I am sending it as it is.🙂
