Alright so I'm gonna be a junior this year and am planning on takin the DAT this november (pretty random i know).
I just wanna know what materials are the best for the DAT preparation?
I just bought DAT Destroyer and for bio I'm planning to use Cliffs AP Bio.
Of course I have the Kaplan Blue Book.
I heard Organic Chem as a second language is pretty good but I just want you guys' opinions for each section and what the best materials are!
I would buy everything but I just realized after buying the Destroyer that there are pretty pricey (Crack Dat PAT is pretty expensive too...)

Also, is it going to hurt my chances if I take the DAT once in November and once maybe in May or June? (end of jr yr?)
I feel like I'm not going to get the score I want this coming November...

Thank you and best of luck to you guys.

You're going to be paying 200,000 dollars for dental school. I think you should dig deep for 200 dollars and get two of the top, irreplaceable (IMO) study materials (CDP and Destroyer).

Hi, check the DAT Discussions forum. I think you will get more assistance there than here, and good luck on your DAT! 😀

It's ok to retake your DAT again as long as you do better.
I completely understand you that the materials are pricey. However, look at it as an investment into your future.

I think the best resources for your money are datQvault and Chad's videos. I am a full-time engineer so didn't have much time to study and these two resources were invaluable, I found them both less than a month before the test and got a 23AA. Don't take the DAT until you're ready, there are plenty of practice tests you can get that will cost you much less than taking the actual DAT and won't be on record. Just my two cents, but as the previous poster said, you'll get much more info in the DAT discussion forum.

I agree with cwoodds. datqvault and chad's videos were extremely helpful.

To me it sounds as if you are planning on not being ready in November and wanting to do the DAT 2x intentionally. I would avoid this at all possible. Ideally, you would study for and take the DAT only 1 time. This looks best to schools, saves you an enormous amount of time and an even larger amount of stress. I would advise you not to take the DAT until you believe you are prepared to do your best.

As sacapuntas said, you honestly don't want to take the DAT twice. It's so much stress and weeks upon weeks of non-stop studying, especially in the days leading up to the exam. I'd recommend trying to kill it in the first chance you get. Speaking from experience here, I took the DAT once and am debating a retake but it takes so much time and effort to be ready for that damn exam.
