I'm a frosh in college and lately I feel like an absolute turd.

1) I have terrible eating habits - I usually eat fast food at least once a day

2) I'm addicted to caffeinated soft drinks

3) I have terrible sleeping habits - some days I'll sleep 11 hours, others I can't fall asleep and I stay up all night dilly dallying on the computer

4) I don't exercise

5) I always have dark bags under my eyes

6) I feel like I have absolutely no energy and I can't concentrate on my studies

How do I turn this around? Do you have any medical advice for me? Thanks.

1)Stop eating fast food. Make an effort to eat it only 0-1/week - and don't pig out when you eat it!

2) As are most people in medicine. Just try to drink less caffeine per day. If you normally drink 6/day, start tomorrow by drinking 5. Next week 4. Then 3, etc. Try do drink decaf soda, even mix half caff. with half decaf at first.

3) Set a bed time and a time to wake up and stick to them. At first wake up earlier and earlier every day. Don't take naps and you will be tired by the time your bed time comes.

4) Start to exercise, today. Start to walk a little today. Park your car further away from the mall and take the steps instead of an elevator.

5) Startwith 1-4 and that should help with the dark bags.

6) Start with 1-4 and this should improve too. Set a specific time everyday to study and stick to it, no matter what. Schedule everything!!! Schedule study times, eating times, exercise times.

Good luck!

Yeah, just cut out all the things you listed as problems. Duh! 😀

thanks, although I pretty much knew all this anyway 🙂

See your primary care physician, for starters.
