😕 sorry for posting another thread. I have some concerns regarding reapplication.
I am a senior graduating in may. I go to school in norcal and am planning on moving back to socal after my graduation ($$ issue). but I don't know what to do with the letters of recommendation 😱 . I have to discontinue the undergrad research as well as the volunteer work at my school's pharmacy. Should I ask for letters of recommendation before I move back to socal? I don't know what to do, i'm utterly confused at this...having to stop the volunteer work now. I still have more than half a year before the interviews if i get any. wouldn't it look bad to stop the volunteer work half a year before the interviews (i will most likely get a lab tech. job but i don't have enough time to get a letter of rec. there)? any suggestions? thanks!

If you have a good relationship with your supervisors at both your undergraduate research and volunteer work, you should be able to ask them ahead of time if you could use them as a reference for your applications. Let them know what your intentions are and see if they are willing to write a letter for you. As the applications become available, you may want to collect them all at once and give them to people you know will speak well of you (don't forget to provide self-addressed stamped envelopes for them so they can mail them to you before you submit supplementals; electronic submission is usually the simplest on pharmcas as well). Usually, pharmcas and paper applications have a form (ranking you)...make sure that your references fill those out rather than just giving you a letter. The letter is usually attached on another page with their school's letterhead.

It's okay to ask now....at least you are asking people who know you well...which is very important because they can write something about you from their point of view. The worst is when your letters of reference don't know you well that your letter of reference may be too generic...eek.

Hope this helps.
