:scared::scared:

I have a few questions in regards to admission into the PharmD program. I hold a Masters in Public Health degree and have about 4 courses left to complete in my pre-requisites my question is: I’m currently in an Physiology course which I hold a B in. Based off of what the professor states it will be nearly impossible for me to earn an A. All my other prerequisites I hold A’s in. I’m worried about this course because I do not want to apply with a B on my transcript.

Would it be wise for me to withdraw and get a W or stay in the course
risk getting a B and retaking the class? I still have a few more
prerequisites to take and I do not want to have any B’s on my
transcript however, I understand that a W is just as bad. I have until
the end of next week to make my decision what would you recommend?

Here's the deal I hate math and I'm not excited about Calculus and so if I can save my B's for that course I would rather do that. Here's my projected year an 1/2 what do you guys think....

Spring:
Chemistry 1B (second year)
Biology 5 (second year)
Calculus 5A (first year)
Physics 2A (first year)
Physiology (AGAIN if I have to retake it..UGH!!)
Summer:
Organic Chemistry (First year)
Apply to Pharmacy schools -- With the courses still left to take would this be okay?
Calculus 5B (First year)
Physics 2B (First year)
Fall:
Organic Chemistry (Second year)
Microbiology
Calculus (if not offered in the summer)
Physics (if not offered in the summer)
My dream schools are UCSF, Touro, CSNS or UOP...what do you guys suggest I do..HELPPPP

Thanks guys!!!

If it were me I would stay in the class and just try to get the best grade possible. If you have A's in the other science classes, one B in physio would be acceptable. You're academic record will speak for itself.

Then again, it's only my opinion and I know nothing regarding your school choices.

Good luck!

1) Relax.
2) Finish your course.
3) Relax.
4) Apply wherever you want to.
5) Relax.

One B is not going to be a deal breaker unless you are struggling to get your cumulative GPA up to the point where your application is up for consideration. Something tells me you aren't on the 2.99 3.0 borderline.

Yes, you can apply with prereqs still not done, so long as you have plans in place to finish them and do so prior to the deadline set by the school you are accepted at (typically the spring, but sometimes the summer right before you start pharm school).
