Just thought I would share some info on waitlists in Ohio and other schools of what I have heard.
Case: moving slowly
OSU: they pretty much have their class set. Wait list moving very slowly. Will take 1-2 if not any per week up until start date. Usually their wait list moves very quickly up until 1st week of July. The bad news is that applicant numbers are up this yr nationwide, so speaking to the secretary, she said that there were 30 more people that were accepted from the wait list as compared to this yr. You can call them and they will pretty much tell you your chances or at least you get a better grasp of where you stand.
MCO: wait list is moving. One of my friends got in July.
Wright: Unfortunately no one has been accepted from the wait list. They have 7 people over class limit. I think their entering class starts pretty soon so I don't think there's much hope if you are still on the waitlist, but you never know!
UC: No idea. I suspect that UC is moving slowly. Last yr, i Have heard that most people- if not all got in if they were in the "top special category" whatever the hell that means! They won't tell you if you are in the top third or what this special category is. Don't bother asking because I can guarantee you they won't say a thing. Also my other friends called during the summer and they were extremely rude to him.
Yale: You can call them Mon and Wed and ask them where you are on the waitlist and they will tell you if you are on the 1st, 2nd or 3rd tier and what kinds of chances you have of getting in.
Buffalo: Moving slowly but at least they are still moving.
Applicant number are up this year so it is more difficult than last year in terms of getting into medical schools. Some schools such as the ones I listed above haven't even taken people off their waitlists. But don't give up hope! You still have a few weeks to go!
