im going to start my junior year and my advisor told me to switch from a pre med major to a psych major minoring in biology due to my grades. i transfered with a 3.6 to this university.. i took genchem here and received a C and a D for lab, for both 1 and 2, should i switch my major because of these two grades or continue onto orgo and genetics. i really want too, but my math wasnt strong enough for genchem. please help asap!

Please don't ask the same question in three different forums.

If you do not want to swap from a pre-med to a psych major, then I suggest you retake Gen Chem 1 and 2 and ace them. I do not think you will do very well in Organic and Genetics, and a C in a hard science looks horrid to med schools (osteopath schools are more forgiving, provided you retake the class) If you do not want to retake, then I suggest you either get a math tutor and get all A's in future hard science classes. Also have you taken physics yet? Some med schools require it and the math in Physics is just as bad in not worse unless you have had algebra and trig recently. Think long and hard about this. You need to buckle down and get a hold of this thing before it runs away. Good luck!

Take a pre-calculus class and try again. If your math isn't good enough for gen chem you're going to be in a world of hurt for physics.
