That's a short list. It would be easier and more productive to call the program coordinators and ask them yourself. Also, ask the pathologists you know if they know anyone in Chicago. Perhaps they will be willing to make a phone call for you.

upenn has a good group of path residents. otherwise than that their entire path is very weak, not just heme.

By what measure is the path weak? Inadequate volume and/or lack of variety? Lack of good faculty?

I'm not even interviewing there for residency, but I'm just curious so that I may keep an eye out for any program's deficiencies that I haven't thought of while I'm on the interview trail.
