Hey all,

So this is kind of a random question, but it's been bothering me so I thought I'd put it out there:

In 2011, I traveled to a rural village overseas for a medical missions trip. To prepare, I had to get a bunch of vaccines: Hep A, polio, Japanese encephalitis, PPD. About 2 weeks after getting all my shots (hadn't traveled yet), I noticed that my alcohol tolerance had increased significantly (I'm a lightweight, and while 1 drink was enough to get me buzzed before, now I'm barely buzzed after 4 drinks!). Furthermore, I noticed that my response to Tylenol had diminished significantly. I chalked it up to something that will pass, went on my trip (didnt get sick once), came back. It's now a year later and I still have the same issues with alcohol and Tylenol. Could something be off with my liver metabolism? I find it very strange that my symptoms started after I got all those vaccines. I'm inclined to suspect Hep A for obvious reasons but from what I've read, it's a benign vaccine with few side effects. Clinically I feel fine. LFTs from last year were normal. Should I be concerned? My PCP doesnt think so...but it kinda sucks not to be able to experience the normal effects of alcohol like everyone else, or to not be able to rely on Tylenol anymore.

Any insight is appreciated.

Thanks!
