so I know this website is full of a lot of good people and a lot of those who just want to beat down on others. Here is a message of hope for both!

I decided to do premed route within the last year and half of my 5 year undergrad degree and aced those 6 quarters finished with a 3.67 sgpa and 3.64 overall, took the mcat without studying got 504 (125,130,125,124) applied to 3 MD programs late and got rejected. Took a gap year, worked and volunteered a lot, was doing well on mcat practice tests in order to retake (averaging around 510). Heartbroken when I did WORSE!! 503 (124,125,124,130) ... All the negative nancys on here said its all over if you do worse on retake... I've been blessed to have 5 interviews out of 15 applications thus far and two acceptances!

My point is have hope! Keep grinding and have faith in the process and stay off SDN at times, most ppl on here probably don't know more than you do anyway!

Happy thanksgiving!

Atta boy!

Doing worse on your second MCAT is not detrimental, especially with how little your score went down. There's a 2 point standard deviation on each score subset to allow for error anyway so that puts you in that area. Also, both of your scores are competitive for most DO schools and your GPAs are better than half of all DOs who matriculate. If you would have done this route last year you would have probably gotten in. SDN is harsh at times, and bullies are usually quick to be Called out. Congratulations on your acceptances and I hope you get into the school of your dreams.

Mind sharing which schools you were accepted to.

Yeah that deviation is a nice cushion for retakers. Unfortunately I didnt have a physician letter of rec last year so my options would have been limited, but all in good time i suppose. I was accepted to CUSOM and TUNCOM, waitlisted at PNWU and AZCOM. Few more interviews to go as well! where do you go?
