On the DAT, in regards to genetics, specifically mutations on the bio section; will I have to know the common gene and chromosome mutations (specific disorder(s) and pattern of inheritance)?

I have not taken the DAT yet but I would know the different types of disorders that are autosomal recessive, autosomal dominant, sex-linked recessive and chromosomal. i.e. chromosomal: klinefelters (XXY), turner's syndrome (XO), Chi Du Chat, Downs, etc. Just "know" that they are inherited via. chromosomal abnormalities.

Pretty much what the responses above say. I would also recommend knowing the general patterns seen with the different types of disorders. Like autosomal recessive tends to skip generations while autosomal typically doesn't. If it's sex linked recessive, if a father does not have the disorder then none of his daughters can have it.

Hey man, if you don't mind me asking can you please explain why this point is true?
" If it's sex linked recessive, if a father does not have the disorder then none of his daughters can have it." I never really understood it.
