Here's the schools I'm applying to. Should I add or remove any?

It really depends on whether tuition/interview expenses would seriously matter. I think the Western CA secondary was about $200. In the grand scheme of things secondary charges are nothing (200 compared to 200,000) but you have to pay up front which makes a difference. When I applied to almost every DO school I didnt think about that until I realized the tuition and secondary fee. I know that LECOM-Erie and the Florida one have the cheapest tuition, with the exception of the state schools if you live in state (OSU, OU, MSU, NJ, WV).

I would add UMDNJ - what state do you live in?

IA. Cost of secondaries really isn't an issue. So the OR and CA schools won't look at me negatively because I'm not from there? I know the MD CA schools are hell to get into if you're not from the state...But I'm hoping the same doesn't apply here?

PNWU is very very very regionally biased from what I've heard. Also has a 175 dollar secondary fee. I'm not sure I'd apply there unless you really want to go or are from Wa/Or area, which ur not.

Western's secondary is only 65, Touro-NY is a 200 dollar secondary, PNWU is 175

Rumor has it that if you receive a secondary from Touro-NY you're going to receive an interview

Didn't apply there so I wouldn't know. As much as I absolutely love NY and want to move back there, I don't want to move to Harlem and I don't have the money to spend 200 on a secondary when thats enough for 2 other schools secondary + primary.

Agreed, I didn't even fill out Touro's secondary. The cost was astronomical, and the secondary itself was really... unprofessional. Full of misspellings and all sorts of jacked up!

If you're OOS, I'd remove OSU.
Thanks. How few OOSers do they take? And I guess I'll remove PNWU too..It just seemed like a nice location, but if they won't consider me, then not worth the time...

Any other schools I should add besides UMDNJ?

They have to take a minimum of 90% IS, unless you knock your retake out of the park (33+) I'd have to agree with Jagger

Maybe you could include KCOM if you are looking regionally from IA?

+1 for including KCOM.

And about OOS for OSU ... it's a great school, but I think they only take a total of like 15 OOS students a year. Possible, but rough. I probably wouldn't bother.

I'll add KCOM (A.T. Still University, Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine, MO, right?)

What's the difference between their MO campus and A.T. Still University, School of Osteopathic Medicine in Arizona, AZ?

Missouri seems...idk...Looking up the wiki page for Kirskville, it's a town of less than 20,000. I'd prefer someplace with atleast 60k population =\

Also, I meant to have PCOM in the OP. What about Nova in FL, and Edward in VA? Worth applying to?

KCOM is the original osteopathic school, its history and reputation speak for itself. They are the most established DO school hands down. SOMA (AZ campus) is a newer school and has a slightly non-traditional cirriculum. You are on campus for your first year and then your 2nd year is distance learning and a clinical area somewhere else. I may be explaining the cirriculum for SOMA wrong but they are definitely not traditional and are a newer school

PNWU accepts people from out of state, but they want people who will practice in the Northwest. You can be from somewhere else, just plan to settle down in Washington/Oregon/Idaho/Montana. I thought it was a great school with a great atmosphere.

Probably going to submit this weekend. Any other final thoughts on schools I should add or remove?
