Hi everyone! My name is Allen...and I'm new here. I've been a lurker, reading everything...but haven't posted. I'm currently in veterinary technology school, and want to one day get into UGA. If not, then I'll probably end up heading to the Caribbean =/ Toot toot heeey beep beep! (...Sorry, I'm in the process of moving, and I just found my Donna Summer Greatest Hits CD >=) )

I have two poodles, six lovebirds, two parrotlets, seven goldfish, too many platies and goldfish to count, and five bettas =) I also own, but don't claim 😛 a little Pekingese. He's a little fart! Anyway, I live in Georgia...I'm 21. (This isn't gonna strike against me later in life...since I'll be like 25 when I apply to vet school, right?) I've lived in Georgia all my life! I LOVE animals, and houseplants...and music! I actually collect The Mamas and the Papas / Mama Cass Elliot stuff.

I look forward to getting alot of great advice from ya'll! Until I get done with my four years of a BS degree, I'll be an honorary moral support technician and cheerleader for everyone else getting into school 😛 Nice to meet everyone finally, and stop being a lurker!

Welcome! You got lots of spunk! Bet its hot as hell down in Georgia - I was flying through ATL to get to Baton Rouge, LA and it's most def. hotter than it was back in NY (not that its cold here anymore).

I look forward to giving you my two cents when you're good and ready for some application/interview/decision advice! For now, I still have to choose between LSU and ISU...but about 90% certain I will be picking ISU for the fall.

I own only one dog...but hes 120 lbs of german shepherd...so maybe it can count as two dogs?? I plan on getting a fairly young (not puppy though) dog sometime this summer because college was horrible without any pets (lived in wrong part of LI so stayed on campus and they didnt allow pets). I don't know what I'm getting...probably going to the shelter and getting one that steals my heart!

Anyways, welcome, and we're glad you've stopped stalking us (JK) and decided to join in the conversation!

Yes, welcome indeed! 😀 I love how Whitefang said that you have a lot of "spunk!" That's a great description.

I was originally planning to apply for the class of 2014, but now it looks like it will be for the class of 2015. I have many pre-requisites to get through b/c my education is in social work.....aka....non-science!

Hey Whitefang, I can count my dog as 2 dogs as well! He's 165lb St. Bernard and my English Mastiff puppy isn't going to be far behind him, but he's only 14 weeks old currently. Gotta love the big guys! 🙂

Welcome! Nice menagerie you've got there. 😀

Welcome!

I'm actually new here too, just joined yesterday. Posting is a lot more fun than lurking 😀

Guess I should introduce myself too. You can remember me as the girl with the cat "Tumbles". He's neurologic and can't walk to well (hence the name). Docs think he's a distemper kitty. He is seriously the best cat I've ever owned, and plus too he provides lots of laughs.

Looking forward to chatting with everyone!!

Welcome to the visible part of the fun.

We like spunk around here. It goes with silliness pretty well.😀

Thanks everyone for your kind replies : ) I'm in the process of moving, as I think I said in my introduction, and I'm finding ALL kinds of goodies I had stashed away. Ya'll already know I found my Donna Summer CD's and Greatest Hits (woo) but I also unearthed my Supremes Boxed Set, my James Brown LIVE CD, aaaaand my Shirley Bassey! I think the body of Jimmy Hoffa was somewhere around here, but I just put it in the ''trash'' pile. As ya'll can probably tell...I loooove music. Especially oldies. I look forward to communicating with you all here on the boards, and I'm about to make my first official post seeking advice! 🙂

As a side note, today one of my lovebirds (the mean whipper snapper named Tuffy, he's an orange-faced sea-green mutation) got stuck in between the window panes...and about gave me a heart attack. He bit the hellfire out of me 😡 but, he was scared half to death, so I wasn't mad at him. BUT, I think it was just a lesson to my family that everyone under-estimates parrots intelligence. I didn't know he would be such an escape artist and get out of his cage like he did, but now he's behind bars tied down with twisty ties 😀 I guess it's a give-take type scenario though. He was smart enough to get out of the cage, but not smart enough to not get caught in between the window panes...and then again not smart enough to get out without a collaborative effort of me, my parents and little brother, and Aunt and Uncle. Oh well, I love him...even with his semi-intelligent schemes.

Welcome! 😀 (Bit of a delayed response I realize, but I'm catching up after a hectic weekend.)

BTW, how did you come by your screen name? Just curious....
