Hide residency match results

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Can I hide my residency match results from my school or keep them from posting it online with everyone else's results?

You can ask your school to keep your match results private. Not sure what your rights are if your school refuses, but doubt that would happen.

Pretty sure your school gets your match results automatically.

Not to mention about a month into residency you'll have like 8 rate my doctor type profiles on websites automatically which will make you pretty easily searchable.

Including NPI data that is public including your residency's address...unless you are one of the people that accidentally provides your personal phone # and address, haha.

Yeah but the point remains-- if you for any reason don't want it typed up and publicly displayed (or put in your medical school's newsletter/website) you certainly have that right. Your school will know, but they don't have to publicly release it. If you have uber-curious classmates who google you, they'll find you (or at least your city of residence; the especially intrepid can look up the sponsoring institutions for your NPI).
