Hey everyone!

I am starting to work on an initial draft for my personal statement and I realize that I keep wanting to mention something that I had done during high school. I understand that medical schools don't really care about high school activities and should not be included in the activities section but how do they feel if it is briefly mentioned in the personal statement? It wouldn't be a highlight, as its not even that special of an activity, but I do feel like its a necessary link between my upbringing and the activities I did throughout college. Let me know what you think!

It's fine to mention HS activities in the PS as part of your path to medicine

If it’s a necessary link between your upbringing and your college activities, then your story won’t make sense without including it.

Your personal statement is about your journey to becoming a doctor. That generally starts before undergrad. You dont just black out 4 years of your life in that essay.
